As the title of this post would suggest, I am skipping math class tonight. Yay! What, you ask, will I be doing during the precious, stolen hours of 6:00 and 10:00 p.m.?
Why, homework of course, the same thing I should be doing right now instead of trolling around on the internet.
Although it may seem that I have no life outside of work and school, I did go to Sangria last week with my sister, not once but twice! To think that for the past year have lived a mile away from this place and never once sampled their culinary delights. A few years ago, I even knew someone who worked there, but I always assumed that only cheeseballs hung out there. (At the time, I only frequented hipster shitholes in Detroit.) I guess I am a cheeseball now (for that matter so is my sister) or maybe it is just that we have grown up and prefer a more sophisticated atmosphere.
Anyway, we both had a nice time and I felt like we really connected. We were even able to talk about my other sister, C who has what I feel is a pretty serious drinking problem. Usually, M refuses to discuss C with me, but the other night I found out that she is just as freaked out and disturbed as I am. We are both afraid that C is headed for a very bad fall and we don't know what to do to stop it. I fear that she will kill herself or someone else while driving drunk and M is afraid that C will commit suicide. I am also afraid that the constant drinking alone will be enough to kill her. I have pretty much given up on C; it has gotten to the point where every interaction with her is extremely painful. Last Febuary I called her to say Happy Birthday and within minutes she was screaming at me. I finally hung up on her, and that was the last time we spoke. Now M has resolved to confront her about her drinking., and I hope that she can get through to C. The whole situation is so sad, and it doesn't have to be this way. My sister is slowly drinking herself to death at the age of 28 because she is still angry about things that happened twenty years ago.
